Chronology of cameras Alsaphot

Le Dauphin is a pseudo-reflex 6 x 6 camera, meaning that the distance setting is not reflected in the viewfinder since the viewing lens is not linked to the taking lens. It is a basic camera. Its Boyer lens is a meniscus 11/8cm. The diaphragm has only two positions: "Cloudy" and "Sunny". The shutter has two speeds: 1/25 and 1/75 seconds. The body is made of metal.

It dates back to the 1950s (featured in the special "photo" edition of Science et Vie in 1955).

There are other versions of the Dauphin, mainly distinguished by the lens/shutter assembly (Dauphin III had a Boyer Topaz 4.5 lens and a shutter going up to 1/200 sec) and a "Made in Holland" version.

In 1953, a Dauphin I cost 3950 francs, and a Dauphin III cost 9920 francs.
