Chronology of cameras Canon
Traduction de C.A.
The classification of Canonet corresponds, not with their building order, but with the aperture of their lens.
This one thus has a lens 1,7/40 mm, which makes a very luminous camera of it.
Canonet 17 followed one another on three generations :
- 1965: Canonet QL17. Lens with 6 elements in 5 groups. Shutter Copal (of 1 second with 1/500 second)
- 1969: New Canonet QL17. The camera is 200 grams lighter than its predecessor. The lens is different since it consists of 6 elements in 4 groups. The Copal shutter starts only to the 1/4 of second. The finder has a correction of parallax. Many indications are present in the finder.
- 1972: Canonet G-III. III indicates the third generation. G announces an increase in quality. Compared to the preceding generation, the battery check has a better ergonomics.
Canonet 17 are speed priority. The QL (Quick Loading), as for him refers to a simplified film loading.
Canonet QL-17 G-III prolonged the success of the Canonet range and made it possible this one to reach more than 1,2 million specimens manufactured (source Canon Museum). It will be manufactured until 1982.
